Frame Guest Agent 1.9.2​

Added:

  • Windows Update Service is now disabled by default for non-persistent workload VMs. Windows Updates should be run on the Sandbox and then published to production.

  • If a Frame Workload VM fails to register with Frame Platform within eight (8) minutes after provisioning, Frame Guest Agent will enable RDP (Windows) or SSH (Linux), respectively, so admins can connect into the Workload VM to investigate.

  • Ability to configure the source of Windows Logs that are forwarded to Frame Platform for support and troubleshooting, by Account. Customers may opt out by contacting Support if they prefer these Windows Logs to not be collected. By default, the event sources are:

    • Windows Logs > Application:
      • MsiInstaller
      • Application Error
      • Windows Error
      • RestartManager
      • FrameLogonScript
      • FrameTaskbar
      • User Profile Service
      • User Device Registration
      • AAD
    • Windows Logs > System:
      • Service Control Manager
      • User32
      • WindowsUpdateClient

  • Session start and close processes refactored to improve user and administrator experiences.

Removed:

  • Legacy session start using -legacysession Advanced Server Argument is now deprecated.

Fixed:

  • Sessions are only considered as Failed if the user is unable to start a session. Sessions that close due to Idle Timeout or Max Session Duration being reached will be labeled as Closed.
  • Frame Guest Agent logs are retained on the workload VM for three (3) weeks before being deleted.
  • Additional reliability and stability fixes.

Frame Server 8.6.8.0​

Added:

  • Significant video streaming performance improvements with FRP8 (upgraded WebRTC Library).
  • Frame Single Sign-On (SSO) is now available in Early Access! Please note that until Frame Server 8.6.8.0 is fully rolled out to all Deployment Groups, customers must still contact Support to enable this feature on a per Account basis. We will make this feature available for self-service configuration via Dashboard in an upcoming release.
  • Advanced Server Argument -refreshStreamOnPacketLossPercent to provide administrators with the ability to improve session quality by forcing periodic keyframes when packet loss exceeds the specified percentage value when using FRP8.
    • Example: -refreshStreamOnPacketLossPercent 10 (forces stream refresh when packet loss exceeds 10%)
  • FRP8 now supports integrated SmartCards with Frame App for Windows and Windows OS workload VMs with the Frame SmartCard Driver installed.

Removed:

  • Support for legacy session start using -legacysession Advanced Server Argument is now deprecated.

Fixed:

  • Issue when a user launches a program while holding the right Shift key.
  • Issue where users accessing a Persistent Desktop would see the Onboard to Frame prompt when installing new applications.
  • Issue with Frame printing due to a Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) error.
  • Issue where Frame Server would crash on session close when more than two monitors were used.
  • Issue with the uploading of empty files.
  • Issue with video artifacts being shown when users scroll in text editing applications.
  • Issue with FRP8 file upload failing on Linux workload VMs if the upload directory on the workload VM does not exist.
  • Frame Server logs are retained on the workload VM for three (3) weeks before being deleted.
  • Additional reliability and performance fixes.
