Per our Frame Remoting Protocol 7 End-of-Life Announcement, new versions of Frame Server and Frame Guest Agent will only be deployed to Accounts using FRP8 only.

Frame Server 9.0.4.0​

Added:

  • Improved handling of KDS Server connection failures and retries.

  • Additional enhancements to session performance and reliability.

  • [Tech Preview] Support for new Session Shadowing feature which allows admins to join an active session. Please open a support case to enable this feature on your Account(s).

    Known limitations with Tech Preview release:

    • Only Account Administrators are able to initiate a session shadow.
    • While users are notified when an admin begins shadowing their session, there is no option for users to accept/reject the session shadow.
    • Admins shadowing a session will have both keyboard and mouse controls.

Frame Server 8.7.7.0​

Added:

  • Session performance and stability enhancements when using FRP8.
  • Max Video Bit Rate for FRP7 and FRP8 now supports up to 64 Mbps.
  • NVIDIA driver version is now added to logging.
  • Details on FRP version (FRP7 or FRP8) and transport protocol (UDP or TCP) to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Environment\FRAME_SESSION_INFO registry key.

Frame Guest Agent 1.9.2​

Added:

  • Windows Update Service is now disabled by default for non-persistent workload VMs. Windows Updates should be run on the Sandbox and then published to production.
  • If a Frame Workload VM fails to register with Frame Platform within eight (8) minutes after provisioning, Frame Guest Agent will enable RDP (Windows) or SSH (Linux), respectively, so admins can connect into the Workload VM to investigate.

Frame Server 8.5.17.0​

Added:

  • Frame will no longer force open applications to close when the Frame session is closed by the user. For Sandbox and Persistent Desktops, this means application state will be preserved from session-to-session unless the VM is rebooted between sessions. Customers can preserve previous behavior by using a post-session script to force apps to close when the Frame session is closed.

Fixed:

  • Issue where attempts to resume an FRP8 session may freeze while “Allocating resources”.

  • Issue where Frame printing may fail on Accounts deployed on private networks due to CORS policy change introduced with Chrome/Chromium version 104.

  • Additional reliability fixes.

Deployment of the Nutanix Frame Agent 22-07-26 Release was previously halted after bugs were identified in customers’ Early Adopter Accounts. This release contains all the changes included with the 22-07-26 Release along with additional reliability fixes. This is reflected in the release notes below.

  • Notification when Windows Folder Redirection and/or Roaming Folder is configured that may prevent Frame Enterprise Profiles from mounting properly.
