New Frame Stateless Driver for Non-Persistent Windows VMs

We are excited to announce the upcoming GA release of our new stateless driver (OFS)! This new driver will be replacing our existing stateless mechanism for non-persistent Windows VMs, bringing enhanced security and performance.

Effective August 15, 2024, we have begun including the new OFS driver with all new Frame Agent releases. The driver will be installed but disabled. Currently, all Frame Accounts in the Early Adopters deployment group (Dashboard > Settings > Deployment Group) have received the new driver. We plan to deploy the driver to all remaining accounts within the next 1-2 weeks. Once the driver is fully deployed, we will then begin enabling the driver in a phased approach (stay tuned for a separate announcement on timing).

While we have been testing our new stateless driver with many of our customers in production for over a year, as it is a Windows OS kernel driver, we will be very deliberate in terms of how quickly we will enable the driver across production accounts. We also strongly recommend that customers who have not tested OFS begin doing so as soon as possible on your test accounts.

OFS Testing Instructions

  1. Create a support ticket requesting to enable OFS on your test account(s). Please provide the Account Name(s) and Vendor ID(s).

  2. Once Dizzion Support confirms that OFS is enabled, simply run a Test Publish on the Account(s) and start a session to your test instance pool. Optionally, you can also run a regular Publish and start a session to your production instance pool.

  3. If your session starts normally and applications work as expected, there should be no issues.

  4. If you experience any issues, please notify Dizzion Support via your support ticket and we will work with you to troubleshoot.

  5. Reverting the change just requires Dizzion Support to disable OFS for the account and running another Publish.

As always, we appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as we work together to continue to bring improvements to our Frame platform!
